About Cowtown Soccer

Who we are

Cowtown Soccer is a Fort Worth league for people who want to play properly — a real table, referees who turn up, and a fixture list you can plan a week around. It has been running since 2008, and it runs for everybody: a three-year-old learning to keep the ball at their feet on a Saturday morning, and a thirty-five-year-old playing seven-a-side on a Thursday night.

How it started

Marc Asmode founded the league in 2008 and still owns and runs it. The idea was simple: Fort Worth had plenty of people who wanted to play and not enough leagues that were organised well enough to be worth turning up for. The league marked ten years in 2018, and in 2019 it became the first in the United Premier Soccer League's national 7v7 division.

What we run

• Adult soccer — eleven-a-side and seven-a-side, including a men's over-30 division. Weeknights.
• Youth soccer — coed and single-gender divisions by age group.
• The soccer clinic — three- and four-year-olds, Saturday mornings, before a league makes any sense.
• MLS GO and NFL Flag — national programmes, run here, each with its own site.

Where we play

Lake Worth Park, at 3501 Roberts Cut Off Road, is the league's home ground. Games are also played at Veterans Park and Central Park in White Settlement. Which park your game is at is on your schedule — it is worth checking, because it is the thing that changes at short notice.

What we care about

The league has said the same three things since its first season: teamwork, mutual respect and integrity. On a Thursday night that means a referee's decision stands, a short-handed team gets a player rather than a forfeit where we can manage it, and nobody is made to feel they are in the wrong division.
